Community Support - Supporting Children and Strengthening Families

The Massachusetts Upstream Child Welfare Mapping model, led by the Juvenile Court, is the first of its kind in the nation and state leaders are collaborating with national partners to develop a blueprint and toolkit to be adapted in communities nationwide. Massachusetts Upstream is based in public health and collective impact approaches, creating a community-based map of the local child welfare landscape to (1) identify resources and gaps in practices, protocols, and programs, (2) collectively agree on priorities for change, and (3) develop an action plan to improve system and service-level responses.
