NAWJ recently submitted a letter in support of HR 4466, federal legislation that would amend the Communications Act of 1934 to require the Federal Communications Commission to prescribe rules for provision of inmate telephone service that would not unfairly impair inmates' ability to communicate by telephone with their children, family members and others, thereby enhancing successful community reentry and reintegration, and reducing recidivism among ex-offenders.
